Apricot Capital Supports the Armenian Translation of Carl Flesch’s The Art of Violin Playing

As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, Apricot Capital is supporting the Armenian translation of Carl Flesch’s internationally renowned method book “The Art of Violin Playing”. The initiative is being implemented by the Primavera Foundation of Armenia, in collaboration with the German publishing house Ries & Erler, and funded by the Amaryan Charitable Foundation, Apricot Capital, and Balchug Capital.

Widely considered one of the most influential violin method books in the world, Flesch’s work is used in music institutions across the globe. With this Armenian translation, young violinists and teachers in Armenia will now have access to this foundational resource in their native language, enabling the full integration of this internationally respected method into local music education.

The book covers essential aspects of violin pedagogy, including posture, tone production, bow and finger technique, vibrato, musical memory, as well as performance advice, diagrams, and examples from major composers. Until now, Armenian musicians have only had access to a Soviet-era Russian edition. The Armenian version will offer a complete and modern presentation of the original work.

The first print run of the translated edition will include 500 copies.

Further details will be published on the official platforms of the Primavera Foundation.

Apricot Capital remains committed to supporting accessible, high-quality educational resources. Another recent example of this commitment is the Armenian-language release of Morgan Housel’s global bestseller The Psychology of Money, published in partnership with Newmag Publishing in May 2025.
