Q&A with Apricot: Can I buy and sell on stock exchanges anytime of the day?

If you’re a newcomer to the world of investments, you might be wondering: can I buy and sell on stock exchanges anytime of the day?

To be short: no.

Transactions can be done only on working days and the opening hours of the given stock exchange. Say you’re in Armenia and want to buy a stock from a US stock exchange, for example an Apple one*. Apple’s stocks are traded on Nasdaq stock exchange. Thus, you can buy one when the Nasdaq stock exchange operates.
