Wall Street ends lower after Fed minutes cloud outlook for rates
Wall Street ended lower on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve's minutes showed central bank officials were divided over the need for more interest rate hikes at their last meeting.

The S&P 500 achieved a new record high on Wednesday, marking its fourth all-time peak. The index showed a growth of +0.37%, propelled by the increased performance of Netflix and major chip companies (since the beginning of the year, the index has already increased by 7.49%).
Following the release of Netflix’s quarterly report, the company’s shares surged by nearly 12% (+7.49% since the start of the year), attaining their highest level in the past two years. ASML Holdings, a leading chip manufacturer, also contributed to the market upswing in the sector with its positive report.
Microsoft experienced a 1.3% rise (+13.68% since the start of the year), propelling its market value beyond $3 trillion for the first time. Alphabet, Amazon.com, and Meta Platforms each saw an increase in value of more than 1% (respectively +8.56%, +2.51%, +13.29% since the start of the year).
Nvidia’s shares experienced a 1% increase (+26.16% since the start of the year), propelling the company’s market value to an all-time high of $1.52 trillion.
